John was a standout soccer player for Immaculate as a 4-year Varsity starter and 3-year Captain. He recorded over 50 goals and 50 assists in his career as a Mustang and helped his team reach its first ever Class "S" State Semi Final.

John went on to play soccer at Assumption College where he was recognized in 1999 as the Premier Male Student Athlete and NSCAA All Region Team. In 1997, '98 and '99 John was named 1st Team - Northeast 10 All League and was the team MVP (Defensive and Offensive) in '98 and '99.
