Andrea was an exceptional IHS athlete, competing in 3-sports and excelling in track, where she would continue her running success at the D1 level with a full athletic scholarship to Boston University for Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track. She was the first CT athlete to win the 1600m race 2 years in a row at the State Open meet. In addition, Andrea was the '05 Nutmeg State Game Champions in the 1600m. As a Mustang, Andrea won the IHS Outdoor Track MVP award in '05 and '06 and was captain of Soccer, Basketball and Outdoor Track teams. She received the CIAC Scholar Athlete award in 1996 and was named the CT Track Female Athlete of the Year. Andrea was the recipient of the McGettrick Memorial Scholarship and Patty LiVolsi award, as well receiving the City of Danbury Mayoral Proclamation Award. She set a personal best time of 5:02.8 in the 1600m, establishing new school records at the time in the 800m, 1600m, 3200m and 4x400m.
