1986 State Championship Team

The 1986 State Championship football team, led by coach Bob Slavinsky, posted an undefeated record, shutting out seven of their twelve opponents. Led by captains Jeff Deldin, Jon Fenaroli, Joe Kohut and Tom Nichols the team won the WCC Championship beating Masuk 14-0. The Mustangs then went on to defeat Derby in the Class S State Championship Game, 24-14. Slavinsky led the team to a memorable season for the Mustangs. Joined by assistant coaches, Bob Plumb, Ray Velez and Bob Benzing the team saw numerous players earning Class A First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention honors.
